Attacking
To attack opponents, you will need to first be in Attack mode. To switch to attack mode, press A on your keyboard. Once you are set to Attack mode you will see "Attack mode" appear in the chat box.
To attack a monster with a non-ranged weapon, you must be within one square of the monster you wish to attack. Simply left-click on the monster while in attack mode and you will begin your fight. You do not need to click on the monster more than once during a fight - your character will continue the fight until you change your position or either you or the monster has perished (represented by the target box around the monster you are fighting).

Throughout the fight you will receive messages regarding how much your character and/or the monster have been hit and the hitpoints the monster has left. Once a monster has been defeated, a corpse will appear on the ground. To view any items dropped by the creature you must open the corpse by double clicking on it. This will bring up a window that is similar to the players backpack. Double clicking on or dragging items from the corpse window will move them automatically to the player backpack.
You receive experience points in both your overall experience pool as well as for the specific type of weapon that is being used throughout the combat sequence.
Gaining Experience
Throughout Legendary Isles, you will gain experience through combat, quests and various other skills. As you gain your experience points, you will gain levels, making your character more powerful and talented than before. Here is brief description on how Legendary Isles calculates your characters levels.
